About the Author

As Harry Ockershausen approached his nineties, he decided it was time to start the book. In 2000, he began dictating audio tapes about his family and his life. His stories include amazing and amusing anecdotes involving family members and personalities recognized on a wider stage: Eleanor Roosevelt, Huey Long, Bobby Jones, Gene Sarazen, Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Artie Shaw, Tony Pastor, Paul Whiteman, Gene Krupa, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagon, the Bushes, and many, many others. The Ockershausen Chronicles is the story of one American family, but it reflects the hopes and dream of most families of the 20th century.
