About the Book

Using popular print media as creative fodder for his work, self taught painter Michael Mongue began painting in the early 1990's while working a day job as a hospital janitor. Working in his home he amassed a large collection of paintings before he began exhibiting his work in 1999. He continues to paint and exhibit his work regularly.

This book is a fine survey of Mongue's paintings over the last decade. Fifty-one large full color reproductions present many highlights of his extensive body of work. A forward written by the artist, text to accompany each painting, and an exhibition history round out this peek inside the world of an outsider artist.
