About the Book

Imagine what your life would be like if you had not been born a human being, but say, an ant, a flower, a bird, a dog, a fish, or even, a gorilla! In this intelligent and appealing new book, a child takes an exciting journey through the animal and plant world and describes how life would have been very different had he or she not been born a little boy or girl.

Parents and teachers can use this beautifully illustrated book as a learning tool for the children aged 4-8 to identify many forms of life and to encourage discussion about the differences between their lives and those of animals and plants. Children will have a better understanding of the world around them and thus more fully appreciate their own precious lives.

About the Author

Rochelle Weiner was born and still lives in Brooklyn, N.Y. She loves animals and throughout her life has had several pets by the names of Laddie, Princess, Tony, Friskie, and Myrtle the Turtle I - IV. She taught as an elementary school teacher and then worked for the Social Security Administration. Rochelle had decided on early retirement until one morning, as she sat on her front porch and worried about her weekly budget, she saw this ant. Once a teacher, always a teacher! Her curiosity caused her to wonder what her life would have been like had she been born an ant. Suddenly her budget woes dwindled in comparison to the problems an ant faces. She then began to compare her life to other animals and plants around her. Rochelle’s love of children and nature inspired her to write this book.
