About the Book

Eight-year-old Melissa's father died when she was very young. Assigned to tell her class about her father, she confronts her sadness at not being able to remember him. Looking at photo albums and hearing stories about him helps, but does not give her the deep sense of personal connection she craves.

With her report due the next day, she goes to bed hoping to somehow meet her father. The adventure begins as Melissa wakes to find her bed flying through the night sky to a new worlds and the meeting she has been waiting for.

The next morning something makes her wonder if it was all a dream.
