About the Book

Alone and confused in a land of suggestion, a young girl’s life continues to fall silently apart despite her best efforts to ignore it. On the surface, she appears normal and harmless, but delving deeper reveals deceit, intolerance and a disturbingly vicious streak.

Actively responsible for past events that she cannot bear to acknowledge,her life has seemingly lost all meaning. She waits forever patiently for her “Opportunity” to arrive whilst sneering and despising the world.

Her path crosses that of Bowl and Chris, two innocent schoolboys, and the resulting events are shocking and unexpected.

Kingdom Wink is an unusual, insightful and, at times, highly emotional novel written through a strange perspective where much is told through implication rather than graphic description, where the narrator cannot entirely be trusted and nothing is quite as it seems.

About the Author

John G Carpenter was educated at St Alban’s School, Hertfordshire, where he studied English, French, Maths and Computer Studies at Advanced Level. On moving to the Isle of Man he worked for a Business Centre in the Island’s capital as the Office Manager for five years, before joining a top-level IT company responsible for website development of numerous key clients including the local Government and financial institutions. John is a prolific writer and has completed several books, one of which – the controversial ‘The Alcoholic Doughnut’ – was completed in just over two weeks.
