About the Book

“Grandma, what was your favorite TV program when you were my age?” The author, born in 1917, was shocked at this revelation of how far removed this generation of children is from life in the “olden times.” THE WAY IT WAS tells just that—beginning with seeing TV for the first time at age 30. Times, situations, and settings covered include pre-indoor plumbing, kitchens, cars, and communication; Depression, Dust Bowl, World War II; work, money, family life, and the author’s own links with history. This book could be your story for your children and grandchildren.
