About the Book
Joe Piano, former homicide detective, turned real estate agent, is called upon by an associate and friend to prove his innocence after he has been accused of stabbing to death a wealthy Chicago socialite in her palatial Gold Coast penthouse. Matters aren't helped by the fact that Joe's friend was the only one found at the scene of the crime and Joe's lingering doubts about his friend's explanation of what really happened. While trying to navigate the shark-infested world of Chicago real estate, Joe has to work fast because the state's attorney has already earmarked his friend for a cell on death row.
