About the Book

After twenty-three years as a Royal Canadian Navy officer, the author and his American wife decide to take a year off before facing civilian life. Their destination: Southern Spain. They rent a house on the Mediterranean. The hundreds of white and red geranium plants are the pride of their crafty gardener. They quickly mingle with their Spanish neighbors and the colorful members of the British colony. There are amazing pets. Foremost is a pooch that feigns a limp when begging for food. About the Author

Jean-Paul Jordan was born in Quebec of a Scottish father and a French mother. He began learning English around eleven playing with nearby English children. He lft home at eighteen for Montreal where he lived with an English family. When Canada declared war on Germany, he joined the ranks of protesters. But after Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the Navy and remained in it in peace time. THE YOUNGER ONES (as John Jordan) was so controversial it made the front page of the TORONTO GLOBE AND MAIL. After retirement from the Navy, he went into the life insurance profession, specializing in corporate problems and estate planning.
