About the Book

The Rise of Nine was created as an experiment in writing. It is a fantasy based on real events spanning about four months. This book not only tells a gothic tale of war amongst nine factions, two continents, and five countries, but also chronicles a period in recent history written as it happened. Keeping fact and fiction to ride side by side was a great challenge, as each random outcome needed a logical explanation. That along with a necessity to predict an ultimate outcome tying all these loosely bound happenings together, finished in what I believe is a great reward. Nearly all writing, I believe, is experimental, and The Rise of Nine is the epitome of experimentation. I had no clue how it would end, and no clue what flavor it would possess. The final product took on a classic tone with the writing style of time passed. It relays the story of fifty-three battles in rapid fire. I hope you enjoy this read as much as I have taken exultation in writing The Rise of Nine.

About the Author

Geoff Gabriel was born in Bethpage, Long Island. From there he and his family moved upstate to Rochester, New York. After a short stint in Southern California, he and his wife Julie moved back to the beautiful western New York winters of Rochester. They reside there with their children, Nicole and Jonpaul, along with two dogs, Brooklyn and Jersey, and the cat, Typhoon. Raising a family, involvement in church, writing, and a full time job in tool and die, are just a few of the current items on his plate
