Carmen Vlad is Professor of Mathematics at Pace University , well-known in the field of measure theory for her extensive research and many publications in various mathematical journals . Since receiving her Ph.D. from Polytechnic University of New York , she has been an active research mathematician in topology and measure theory . This monograph summarizes most of her papers by presenting the outer measures and some of their relations with Wallman spaces , normal lattices and semiseparation of lattices . Besides serving as a reference tool for researchers, the monograph can also be easily used as a textbook for graduate courses in measure theory .
