About the Author

I am Ruth Gaither Jones, born in Mitford, South Carolina. I am one of eight children Born to Will and Mary Gaither who were farmers. I have six brothers and one sister. I Came to New York to live at the age of fourteen. I went to High School in New York Also Business School. I have two daughters and five grandchildren. I am presently living in Brooklyn, New York. I am working for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Manhattan and have been working there for the last twenty-three years.
