About the Author

Author Biography Elvira Hughes Brigg was born in September, 1913. Her early childhood was spent in Montclair, New Jersey with her parents and five siblings. Following the death of her father, her family moved t Edgewater Park, New Jersey where she lived for many years. After studying social work at the University of Pennsylvania, she worked with foster children in Pennsylvania and later as a married counselor at the Marriage Council of Philadelphia. She married an Englishman and they had three children. Her retrospect covers these fifty or so years of her life.
