About the Book

Neli Moody’s first published collection, After Altamira, is gathered from her most recent work, completed during the past year. A teacher at San Jose State University and the recipient of many honors, including the James Phelan Award for poetry and the Academy of American Poets’ Virginia Araujo Award, her poems weave a tapestry of histories and places, of civilization and the wonders of nature and reveal a delight in language, whether the words are drawn from the classical world or newly made.
