About the Book
Ira, an aerospace office worker in his early thirties, meets Cathy, in her mid-thirties, through a singles ad. Neither has extensive dating or sexual experience. Cathy’s job as a reporter exposes her to eroticism and women who are very "into sex," two of whom she befriends. Cyndi, a young swing club member who she meets while researching a story, suffers a traumatic experience at the hands of a male club member. Cathy and her new friend Ira investigate with an ironic result. Their investigation causes its own repercussions for them and for Cyndi. With prompting and help from Danni, a former adult performer, they try an interesting solution to neutralize the dangerous swing club male. The plan involves a friend of Danni's from her adult video days who is less refined and considerably wilder than Danni. As Cathy and Ira become closer, she struggles with sex becoming part of their relationship as well as other feelings and sensations. As she contemplates sex with Ira, she borrows some of Danni's old videos, possibly for ideas--but she's not totally comfortable viewing them. Cathy also thinks and writes about sex, traditional values, and hypocrisy in a column for her paper. (Screenplay available.)
