About the Book
Among nine children, the two that faced the most struggles were Robina, sixteen, and Neil, fourteen. They grew up and made choices about which path to take in life. Robina was described as mature, responsible, and thoughtful. Robina was always trying to look out for her wild and courageous sister Neil. Robina was very curious but not too often to take risks that would mean getting into trouble by her parents. Neil, on the other hand, was mischievous. The one crush Robina had was a young man she grew up with then turned into her first love. Robina, at seventeen, later discovered she was expecting and didn’t quite know what to expect. She didn’t really understand why things were going the way they were. Robina and Neil encountered many challenges, and the roads ahead were rough. The two sisters cared for each other very deeply, but both were forced to leave home. Leaving home wasn’t easy, but being in their situations, they had no choice. From then on, they made different choices and lead different lives. The two sisters would always find a way to see each other over the years for either support or advice. As the years passed, the large family slowly reunited. All nine siblings had grown and faced problems of their own, but Robina’s encounters were very devastating. Robina had five children, and their future would be very much at stake.
