About the Book
The Authors Nina Carey Tassi was born in Chicago and grew up in South Bend, Indiana. She received graduate degrees in English from Columbia University and Fordham University, then launched her career in university administration and teaching in Maryland and New York. As a professor of English, she has taught literature, creative writing, and journalism as well as designed a master’s degree program in creative writing. During several years when she worked as a prize-winning journalist, her book, Urgency Addiction, was published and translated into Chinese. Now serving as a consultant on international programs in New York City, she travels extensively and often fi nds poetic inspiration along the way. Her poetry appears regularly in The Penwood Review and other journals. Her new book, The Jeremiah Tree, is a collaborative work of poetry and painting. Pat Roach was born and raised in Gahanna, Ohio. She received her bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and her master’s degree in business administration from Wright State University. She graduated from the New York Institute of Photography, and after serving in several professional positions in Dayton, Louisville, and New York City, she now makes her home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. While continuing to hone her photography skills in workshops with Southwestern masters, she has traveled to all seven continents and more than thirty countries to photograph beautiful landscapes. A major new archeological project is photographing petroglyphs, the ancient drawings and carvings on rocks discovered in the New Mexico hills, with the images recorded in the state archeological data base. Pat’s photography was featured in a recent catalog of Photographer’s Edge.
