About the Book

The Eye of the Woman presents a compilation of photographs and mixed media. The photographer shows us art in ways that evoke a deeper meaning within. “The camera is my brush and the scene is my canvas” is this artist’s mantra. Strongly influenced by Georgia O’Keefe, the photographer finds beauty in simple objects and shapes. The reader will find images from around the world, painted photographs, dramatic landscapes and symbolic creations of art. The artist believes that the artist must understand and master light and shadow, as they are like dancers gracing us with their quick and long steps and in their embrace, they become one. This study is the foundation of every art piece.

About the Author

Maureen Whiting is a published author of “Love Me Love Me Not, A Poetry Collection”. She is an award-winning photographer and accomplished artist. The author has attended The Art Institute of Colorado majoring in Photography and holds a Master’s degree in Psychology. Maureen has taken a variety of courses including; Interior Design, Graphic Design, Web-Site creation, Pottery and Mixed Media techniques. She also has completed course-work at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C. The author is planning her next photographic journey. Maureen is also exploring the techniques of welding and using those techniques to create larger art, including found objects and recyclable materials. She lives in Florida
