Darryl Lyman in his book, “The Jewish Comedy Catalog” provides a listing and biographical data for over 100 Jewish Comedians who made and make America laugh. Included in this Catalog, along with Jack Benny, George Burns, Sid Caesar, Mel Brooks, Billy Crystal, Buddy Hackett, Jerry Lewis, Myron Cohen, etc. etc. etc. is the author of the book you are holding in your hand. The Catalog describes him as follows: MEYER ZAREMBA, a former public-school principal, convulses audiences with his jokes, stories, and monologues in both English and Yiddish. He finds humor in every facet of the Jewish experience and simultaneously increases Jewish listeners pride in their heritage. Meyer Zaremba, after his retirement, performed in many states in the country with his programs, “The Jewish Experience Through Laughter, Song, Poetry, Literature, etc” He rode with the last horse cavalry outfit during World War II, and later served in Army Intelligence as a Chinese Interpreter. He had a tryout with a Brooklyn Dodgers farm club.
