About the Book

A wonderful new children’s book that I’m sure you’ll agree is a perfect fit for the little children in your life. The children’s book is new and beautifully illustrated. It’s available in two formats (softcover and e-book). The story has two levels. The first is for little children with a playful story about life and times of snow leopards. Second is for adults and young adults where a strong rebuke is delivered for fur trade, poaching, mistreatment and loss of habitats for these beautiful cats. This stirring short story told to me by my Mother now placed in print form is inspiring for all ages. The story follows the family of Tabbu(mother) and Ges(father) and their cubs through living in the mountains where man invades their hunting grounds and break the family apart. Ges is killed by hunters. Tabbu’s story is followed afterwards. She’s taken into captivity which crushes her spirit and will to live. She dies in captivity and is joyously reunited with Ges in the afterlife. It’s a feel good story that really makes one stop to think about man’s interactions with the wild (particularly Snow Leopards)."

About the Author

Jason L. Pike has had a professional life around the US Navy, starting out at age 17 and staying until he had acquired 24 years continuous service. His Naval career began in the Submarine Forces operating Naval Nuclear Power then he accepted a commission via the US Naval Academy. He rose up the ranks until had become a principal in the requirements and construction of the US Navy’s newest Surface Craft: Littoral Combat Ship(LCS) Program. He retired from the US Navy an Officer with combat decorations. He is a well-respected Disabled Veteran. He’s since had roles in government contracting, organizing new business models, business consulting, and new technology applications for the betterment of mankind. He’s been labeled as a “CAN DO” person when the job “has to be done”. Due to the confluence of life forces and his disability management, he’s now blessed with the opportunity to fulfi ll a promise made to his loving Mother more than 20 years before to publish her short stories. She was adamant that they should be retold to future generations. The goal of these works is to be partially autobiographical and partially a heritage snapshot oriented for his children and his brother’s children. They are far wider reaching than just the Pike Family, giving an opportunity for many others to understand more about God and his Plan of Salvation. It’s noteworthy that working on these projects has been like sitting around the dinner table catching up on family things of importance to life. His younger brother lives at the old family homestead. Jason Pike, LCDR(Ret.), was born in Columbia, South Carolina, USA, the Author survives Georgia Margarete Watson Pike (DEC 2005) and William Ray Pike (NOV 1990). He’s earned a MBA from Troy State University (2000). He’s a graduate of the US Naval Academy in Systems Engineering (1993). He serves everyone he’s able through the love of CHRIST our LORD. He’s served in various capacities in the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints; however, his favorite role is father of five children. He measures his success in life by the relationships that he has been able to foster and maintain over his life time; the strongest of which are his parental relationships up and down the generations by the Spirit of Elijah and his relationship with Jesus Christ. Thanks for being there always!
