About the Book

Life is a classroom and loss is the teacher. Are you going through a trying time and need a rope of hope? Do you know someone you’d like to encourage by offering them tiny truths to help them through a sickness or sorrow? Then Lifelines is for you. If you or someone you care about is suffering, you may feel there is no end in sight. However, nothing lasts forever on this earth. Be inspired by Patty’s photos and encouraged by her stories and quotes. She’s throwing you a lifeline! Hang on as you move from mourning to joy.

About the Author

Author, columnist, and award-winning photographer Patty Gardocki shares lifeline lessons from her experiences as a teacher, a nurse, and a fellow sufferer. Loss of health, family, marriage, and career - writers call these things “grist for the mill.” Before writing this booklet, Patty prayed for a greater understanding of loss. Then she broke her back. She equates that prayer with praying for patience and learned a valuable lesson: big requests are often answered with bigger challenges! Patty is the mother of two adult sons and grandmother of six, three of whom are autistic. Her article about her grandson, Brandon, was published in Voices from the Spectrum (edited by Robert Naseef and Cindy Ariel). If Patty is not taking photos, leading a small group at her church, or spending time with family, you’ll probably find her at the beach enjoying a sunset.
