About the Book

Each life experience, some good, some bad, tends to alter the direction of the next phase of one’s life. At times, it’s being in the right place at the right time or being in the wrong place at the wrong time, depending on one’s own perspective. The greatest advantage of my life was living in America with the freedom to pursue my own destiny. Life is a never-ending learning experience; life is neither good nor bad, neither fair nor unfair. It is what it is, deal with it and move on—live life to the fullest.

About the Author

I am a very fortunate person to have lived in this time. I never attained great monetary wealth, but I had the opportunity to experience all aspects of human life. I was born in the depth of the Great Depression of the 1930s. During my lifetime, I have experienced poverty in my early years and the general wealth of the late 1900s. I have experienced trust and betrayal, security and danger, and had the opportunity to experience success and failure and lived during all the wars of this era. I quit high school during my tenth year to take over the running of the family grain and cattle farm after my father’s health failed. I was drafted into the United States Army at the age of nineteen. The military was a positive influence. They taught me discipline and gave me a high level of confidence. This changed my life and started me on a journey that took me around the world to many foreign countries, through ghettos to the upscale areas of the world cities to places I had never imagined while I was growing up in rural west central South Dakota.
