About the Book

It’s the small events in life that can easily be ignored.  They usually receive not more than a passing glance.  The Watergate break-in investigation started with a piece of tape on a door latch.  If that had not been noticed, history would certainly be different.

Dean Reston is a Philadelphia lawyer.  He placed his client, Marty, in a medical research program at the federal prison where they are trying to find a cure for AIDS.  Even though this was the best deal Marty could expect, he was still looking for an easy way out.  A simple statement by a doctor led Marty to suspect his doctor was lying, he figured he might be able to “sue for millions”.

To pacify Marty, Dean looked into his concerns and was soon immersed in a maze of suspicious activity.  Certain clues linked the events at the prison directly to Dean’s children.  Almost immediately Dean's office and home were bugged and his activities monitored.  Dean knew he was in dangerous territory, but couldn’t give up the investigation.  He had to find out the risks to his family.  The trail led from a lake in Florida to all the rivers of the world and to every person on the face of the earth.  Our government was up to something.  But what were they doing?  Could they be stopped?  Or more importantly, should they be stopped?

In the middle of his stress, Dean met Marian, a beautiful, charming woman who was the first love in his life since his wife died from cancer.  He became torn between digging deeper into the mystery or just dropping it entirely to spend time with Marian.

Dean is befriended by an unlikely source when even his best friend can’t tell him the truth.  The events have a lasting effect on Dean’s family and especially on Dean.

The story is fiction, or is it?  We’ve all heard pieces of this puzzle.  Is this the truth we haven’t heard?
