About the Book
This is the story of a small part of a very large war and some of the people, who all had a burning desire to fly, who were involved in a small way with it. To them, it was a very large way, and they would never forget. It was all “Top Secret”. At that time, they had no idea of just how secret it was. About fifty years later, under the “Freedom of Information Act”, some articles began to appear in the media, based on their work, and other “Top Secret” World War II assignments. This is their Squadron’s story.
About the Author
Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, raised in Chicago, Bruce S. “Bud” Sholl volunteered to become a ‘fighter pilot’. Called to active duty in 1943, he finished college after the war, graduating in 1948 from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Business Administration. He became a transportation agent for General Motors, retiring in 1975 to become a ‘sport fisherman’. After 15 hard years at sea, the ‘old man’ started introducing him to the aches and pains of aging. He then switched to writing. After five years of research he put together his first work, a true story of his squadron’s unbelievable assignments.
