About the Book
This novel is composed of approximately equal parts psychiatric case history, World War Two love story and metaphysical exploration. A U.S. Army nurse, Addie Bolton, stationed in England in 1944, finds love with a GI in the midst of preparations for D-Day. Sadly, her beloved and three close friends are killed on Omaha Beach.
In 1984, patients in a psychiatric research project, with now-semi-retired Addie as an assistant, discover through dreams, hypnotic regression and Addie’s own memories, that they are, somehow, the same friends who planned a postwar 40-year reunion – and its time has come.
About the Author
Joyce Glauser is a mother and grandmother who lives in Florida, where she enjoys reading, writing, listening to music and visiting with friends and family. “Writing,” she says, “ is, for me, easier than not writing. It is something that demands to be done, because the characters and situations insist that I tell their stories. I have no choice but to try to do them justice.” The author is working on a memoir to document her life as a polio survivor who has enjoyed a full range of experience, including education through university, marriage, parenthood, and an independent, self-supporting life she still finds challenging and exciting.
