About the Book
My Stories is a memoir recording the author’s experiences over eight plus decades of the twentieth century. It starts with growing up in the decade of the twenties in a small rural town in south Alabama isolated from the greater world, and continues through the Great Depression, college, and a fascinating forty-two year career with General Electric which includes eighteen months working in the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge. A love story is included leading to an intimate marriage, raising a family, and continues through a productive retirement. The authors philosophical comments in some chapters trend toward being an essay.
