About the Book

Chigger Ridge, Alabama, is a safe town, until something starts eating its inhabitants. Sheriff Dudley Bailey first thinks that it is only a ravenous animal tearing apart its victims. Not until there is an actual eyewitness account of the creature does he realize what he is up against. His woman, Maree Morgan, is not only sought after by two dangerous men, but also the cunning monster, who has put her last on its bloody menu. The excitement continues throughout the book, ending in the last chapter when Dudley’s courage is put to the test, and Maree fights for her life.

About the Author

With a degree in Anthropology from the University of Alabama, E. A. Vines does not exactly follow that profession. Instead, she lives in a cabin on the Warrior river with numerous dogs and one cat, Tater Bug. When she is not writing, she is the “Artist in Residence” at Kings Point. She is also a muralist and has done several large paintings. She has a love for animals and nature, and her greatest desire is to one day live in a place suitable to establish a home for the abused and unwanted of all God’s creatures.
