About the Book

Bytes of Bits is the first in a series of Computer Science textbooks written for the high school audience. It introduces students to the world of Computer Science from a historical perspective, beginning with the abacus. By the end of the course, students are familiar with the evolution of computing, basic functions of hardware, software, and networks, and can begin to think analytically about solving everyday problems with computer algorithms. This book is designed to bridge the gap between the books written for those who are already professional engineers and the books written for “dummies.”
