About the Book

Grassroots Clippings from Oklahoma Green Country is a collection of essays and political commentary in the form of editorial letters appearing in the Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise over a period of 12 years. They chronicle the political events of the times, mainly the Clinton presidential years, as seen through the eyes of a diehard Democrat living in a Republican stronghold. Passionately partisan, they present a folk narrative of history for political “junkies.”

About the Author

Home for Eleanor Sholl is Dewey, Oklahoma, located in the northeast corner of the state known as “Green Country.” She is content to have resided in her present location for fifty years, after having lived her earlier life in many different parts of the state as an itinerate Methodist preacher’s child. In addition to her avid interest in writing, she is a practicing pianist, a skilled seamstress and an enthusiastic gardener, especially in the spring and fall.
