About the Book

Jan, God, and the Chicken Soup is a story about a lady who tries many different ways to serve God. Jan doesn't realize that she is a valuable part of the Body of Christ because she seems to fail at everything she tries. When faced with a friend's illness Jan decides to pray and ask God what she can to do help. To her surprise, God tells her to do something she never thought about doing, making chicken soup. Jan even tries to talk God out of leading her to do it! She later realizes that it doesn't matter how big or small you are or how many people see you do it ,everything you do to help other people pleases God. Every person is special and each one has a purpose in being.

This story is full of scripture as the story unfolds to prove what the Word of God says about the importance of every part of the Body of Christ and His Love for us.

About the Author

Sheila Kress lives in Tell City, Indiana with her husband Doug and two children, Josh and Sara. She teaches 3rd and 4th grades at Agape’ Christian Academy in nearby Cannelton, Indiana. The stories of Jan are based on a friend who actually said God couldn’t use her because the only thing she knew how to do was cook. She was making chicken soup at the moment!
