About the Book

This is the story of King and the bond that exists between man and his dog. A bond which, when forged at an early age and tempered over time, cannot easily be broken.

King was part collie and part bulldog which made for a wonderful breed. Not only was he a fast learner, he was also very good around children.

The collie breed of dog goes back to Great Britain. It was originally bred to be a shepherding dog of Scotland, which is how it got its name. Historically, it is believed that collies were first brought to Scotland by the Romans.

King certainly was no herder but sure loved to hunt and was particularly easy to work with. He loved his freedom but also wanted to please. He was, in fact, a very good dog.

About the Author

Ralph Krenz has been an avid hunter since the age of eight. His earliest hunting experience was the simple trapping of chipmunks for pets. As he grew older and more proficient at hunting and trapping, his parents bought him his first BB gun which he used to target cans, birds, and squirrels. It was at the age of 14, that Ralph’s father bought him his very first rifle. Ralph well remembers that very first gun. With it he would go on great adventures deep in the forest with his older brother and his faithful dog King. The natural surroundings impacted him deeply and his stories will impact you deeply as well. From those early beginnings, hunting became a major part of Ralph’s life.
