4 Walls No Mirrors

About the Book

Most of this book was written in New York City from 1998, when I started work on this batch of writing, until around mid 2001 when I was wrapping up the rewrites. I was living in a small studio in Manhattan that left me incarcerated within a 12x15ft square room that had no mirrors. Since I had no money to go out, I would sit for hours alone in my room with nothing but my music, some Henry Rollins books and my pen and pad, just imploding and exploding within myself. In this period I discovered the healthiest thing for the soul is the ritual self-mutilation of your mind and spirit while sitting alone in a room, with no excuses, no denial and only the naked truth- the blame nails itself to your wrists.
