About the Author

Dwayne Kugler, an accredited chef by trade, possesses an A.O.S. in Culinary Arts from the highly acclaimed Culinary Institute of America. His interest in photography did not surface until he took his first step on international soil in the summer of 1992. Upon graduation from the Culinary Institute of America, Dwayne accomplished humble notoriety in the culinary field. Featured in numerous local newspapers, the apex of his fame arrived in January, 1999 when he was honored to be pictured and acknowledged in the New Jersey Monthly magazine, as the chef of Max’s , the best new restaurant in New Jersey. Receiving three and one half stars out of four is considered quite a feat in a state that is so densely populated with fine restaurants. On the heels of the success of Max’s, Dwayne established a small restaurant, Uncle Vinnie’s Clam Bar. Creating and performing countless culinary feats on four small burners in the eye of the public in a modest six hundred square foot space, was a formula for instant success. The rising popularity of Uncle Vinnie’s Clam Bar made Dwayne well known throughout the area. Dwayne’s interest in photography started ever so innocently in the summer of 1992 during his first trip across the Atlantic Ocean to Italy. What was intended to be a two week relaxing holiday, quickly became a time of intrigue and fascination as he first saw the ancient architecture in Italy and all of Europe. Snapping photograph after photograph, intending to capture the exciting memories of travel, Dwayne never envisioned how the allure of photography would take over in his future. Returning to America, Dwayne yearned to return across the Atlantic Ocean as quickly as possible to explore more cities and countries. Unfortunately, the daily demands of owning a restaurant halted his travel until the spring of 1999. Upon selling Uncle Vinnie’s Clam Bar, Dwayne’s interest in travel and photography became his primary interest. With no responsibilities to hold him back, he quickly purchased an airline ticket that took him from Newark International Airport to Brussels, Belgium. Arriving in Belgium on May 3, 1999, Dwayne had thirty-nine days of adventure and photography ahead of him. With no set itinerary or time limits to constrain him, with the use of a Europass on the European rail system, Dwayne traveled through Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Austria and the Czech Republic before returning to Brussels on June 10, 1999 with countless memories and breathtaking photographs. Classic architecture and limitless landscapes came to life through the lens of Dwayne’s cameras. Further trips to the Philippine Islands and the magnificent grandeur of Moscow and Saint Petersburg in Russia made Dwayne decide he must publish a documented account of his travels throughout the world. Attaining the services of a publishing company, Dwayne is proud to display these photographs and short stories from around the world for your enjoyment.
