About the Book

Clouds of uncertainty loomed heavily over the nation in the early 1940's. Such is the case in Heartaches of Love when young Billy Johnson was called to serve in the military just as he and Sally, his high school sweetheart, were making plans to marry and work the family farm.

Shortly after arriving in Germany, Billy was sent into battle but did not return. Was he dead or alive?

Fearing him dead, Sally waited for months, then years.

Miracle of miracles, Billy was found alive.

Returning home, with love still alive, he and Sally were married within a month.

About the Author

Harold Shelton lives in Virginia with his wife, Peggy, two horses, and two dogs. A modest and simple person, his greatest enjoyment is time spent at home or on the trail with his horses. He is an artist blacksmith with a vivid imagination and sense of creativity. Growing up on the farm, being observant and impressionable, he stored away many ideas to be used later and inspire him to write Heartaches of Love, his first novel.
