About the Book

Wrapped around the present-time stories told in O’Hara’s Legacy are snippets of history regarding the Northwest Territory Ordinances. These pieces of legislation caused the lands of the so-called Northwest Territories (the Upper Midwest) to be surveyed, sold, and ultimately settled.

The initial surveys of land were subject to irregularities due to the primitive tools that were in use at the time as well as the varying skills of the surveyors in any given area.

These irregularities in turn give rise to colorful backgrounds for a number of the stories which are woven into the fabric of this book, O’Hara’s Legacy.

About the Author

The author was born and raised in Michigan within spitting distance of one of the Great Lakes. When the time came to go forth into the Real World, he spent over half of his adult life in the San Francisco Bay Area as that was the only place there was a body of water large enough to simulate the Lake.
