Author Adrienne Palmer was born into the film industry. Through friends, she started out as a secretary-- often subject to many humiliating casting couch interviews. In time, she submitted many film scripts, but they were often too erotic to be used in the United States, had to be re-written, and were produced without her name on the script. Some of her films were shot abroad, and she was able to assist on the sets. Though at first shy and reclusive, she succumbed to the Hollywood beauty experts and became one of the most stunning women in the industry. Once, walking into a party with fellow script writer Gore Vidal, she told him that she had slept with every man in the room. Working her way up through the ranks, she became one of the first female film producers. But she still prefers anonymity when it comes to writing novels.
