DORA RICE DIGBY was born in Maryland. She has been published for decades in newspapers (i.e., Lansing State Journal for 11 years); two Michigan magazines, Today and Circadia, w/artwork; poetry, in Charlie Bartlet’s column, syndicated in over 145 papers. This was a eulogy to JFK. Sold jokes to Orben’s Current Comedy, a joke market for presidents, famous comedians; plus created an original Christmas card line. Mostly, she freelanced from her home in Lansing, but also did temp. Court reporting taught music therapy at the Lansing School system after completing her post-graduate courses. Worked as an intern for the U.S. Government National Parks during summer vacations from college. Moved to Palm Beach County, Florida, before Pearl Harbor and was hired to work at Morrison Field in West Palm Beach. Met her husband, Major Bob Digby, navigator, there. Bob spent most of his six years of service overseas. When World War II ended, Dora, Bob and Bob Jr. moved to Digby family home in Michigan.
