About the Book

Centuries ago the Kingseer spoke her prophesy of doom to the newly crowned king of Corrigar. Though some have grown to believe them merely an old wives tale, others will now use her words to manipulate a FreeSword and throw the kingdom in civil war. Grendelak Mishtar, sworn member of the FreeSword Brotherhood, has been away on Contract for years. Instead of the celebrated return he anticipated, he finds his kingdom disrupted and the king seeking his head. He must save the Brotherhood while trying to avoid the cryptic mutterings of the skald that haunts his dreams.

About the Author

Donald and Lori MacVittie are life-long fantasy fanatics who both hold Master of Science degrees in Computer Science. They live in Wisconsin with their three children, cat and yippy dog and are often visited by residents of their favorite fantasy world at the dinner table. This is their second published work in the world of Nordalia, which both inhabit on a regular basis, though many complete and nearly complete tales wait impatiently in a chest for their turn to be told.
