About the Author

James Facos, born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, in 1924 (but raised in Springfield), entered the U.S. Army Air Corps in February 1943, served as a ball—turret gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress in early 1944 for 30 missions over Germany, and received the Air Medal, with three oak leaf clusters, and the Distinguished Flying Cross at 19. A retired English professor (Emeritus) of Norwich University, Facos is the author of the WWII air war novel, THE SILVER LADY, two full-length plays, and two short novels. He lives with his wife, Cleo, in Montpelier, Vermont.
