About the Book

Far, far in the distant past, during God´s great creation, He swirled and boiled substance into a solidifying mass that settled out as bedrock that would support sediment and pile soil into what people would know as The Garden of Eden. A fissure within the garden allowed evil to crawl into the world. The area now known as the Middle East became a human playing field in a time incomprehensible to us. Far back in a time when the ancestors of great, scaled monsters slithered across this solidifying sludge, an event of basic importance occurred in the Garden of Eden. A man and a woman appeared there and embarked upon a journey that would reach to our present age. Thousands of years have passed since an insuppressible power molded the earth and formed hills, vales, streams and gardens. In this molding, God formed, Adam and Eve. They were the masterpieces of his creation. From the abyss, a daemon crept and defiled them. God turned away in disgust. Then he began the battle with Satan to recapture his people. Battles between good and evil raged across this primitive land. The deforming forces of evil worked unchecked for centuries until by the time of the coming of our Lord to this earth. Man’s destiny was bleak. The battles had decided it for the most part. Some survived Satan’s traps, others did not. For those who lost their souls to the forces of evil and Satan’s easy alternatives, hell awaited. While the Garden of Eden was once a sanctuary for those created in God’s likeness, now we cannot find its location or its people. What dreams did they have, what dangers did they face, and what hopes did they never realized? The answers to these questions lie forever masked in the oblivion of years gone and forgotten. Hints of life as it might have been there we discover in God’s Holy Book. There is no proof aside from faith. Our ancestors have passed stories down through the generations of man. I, for one, believe those stories. Now and then, the Holy Spirit reveals a glimpse of times past. While battles rage in the Middle East, life of dwellers before their time lies undefined in the mysteries of the loam. How many theatrical staging have occurred there and have blended into the past and the land so their existence we have forever forgotten? What plan did God have? How did Satan react to its enactment? Who would save humanity from their poor choices? What efforts would Satan and his imps apply to conquer the people of his world back before time was calculated? All these questions I answer in the book called Forces of Evil. Life has played out many scenarios on this land where fossils alone keep records. Only hints, bits, and pieces remain of the once determined inhabitants that possessed the Promised Land. Their existence span the eons of civilizations, yet they might as well have never lived aside from the legacy they left. It is within this rustic foundation that we entwine our roots. We too are slowly fading into the past unheralded. God created all things and there was nothing made that he did not make. God created Satan and he rebelled against God in heaven. A third of the angels in heaven agreed with Lucifer, the Angel of Light, and followed on his tail when God cast him from the Kingdom of Heaven into the world of darkness to dwell. From that darkness, God created the universe and Satan inhabited it as well. The battle rages again. The book Forces of Evil brings together fallen angels, forces of evil, and Satan himself into a struggle against God for the souls of all humanity. God has a master plan that the Devil cannot discern. He knows of Jesus and of his coming but God does not permit him to associate that accurately with His shed blood for the remission of sins. That weakness is Satan’s final downfall. His forces of evil will follow him to the bottomless pit of hell for eternity.

About the Author

Born July 4, 1944 in Clinchport, Virginia. A.A. Degree from Hiwassee College, Two Years East Tennessee State University in study of science. Associate of Science Degree from Walter State College, Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from ETSU, Graduate Tennessee Law Enforcement Academy, Graduate of the FBI National Academy. I teach adult class at New Melody Church. I belong to many professional and civic organizations. I an accessory for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, and an Advanced Member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Planners. I speak before various religious gatherings. I serve as Chief of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee. I am the Arthur of two other books: On the Way Up and Duck River.
