About the Book

The Curtis Family Chronicles Book 1 Ida’s Road Joann Wasem Dunn Fifteen year old Louisa Curtis, living in a safe world of extended family near rural Heyworth, Illinois saw her world radically change as summer slipped into the fall of 1895. Faced with tragedy and a shocking change in her life, Louisa begins a journey of her own, sometimes as rough as the road leading to her Aunt Ida’s farm. Louisa’s story is not the only one in Ida’s Road - far from it. Older sister Rhiannon makes a decision that she hopes will lead her toward a more exciting and challenging future. Is she prepared for the world of glamor, wealth and power she encounters? Meanwhile, sister Rosemary pursues a simpler dream of marriage to someone who will allow her to be a stylish lady without farm chores; brother George runs from his failure to his family, and Emma and Elon, Momma and Poppa, struggle with the first real rift in their long marriage. Story upon story, humor, and memorable characters make Ida’s Road an unforgettable family saga. Author Joann Dunn, who comes from this heritage, tells their stories with wit and compassion.
