Meet the Authors: Berlande Gibson believes that every child can learn, they just need to be taught differently. “I decided to write this book with my colleague after we experience the way students with learning disabilities were being forgotten in daily routine of the educational day. Berlande Gibson has taught Exceptional Student Education for seven years before becoming an Educational Specialist. This is her first book and there are many more to come. She lives in Florida with her husband and two boys. Zandra Higgs-Bivens always believed that knowing how to read provides a light at a seemingly dark tunnel. Currently I am a Guidance Counselor at an elementary school in Miami-Dade County. I have been in the education arena for approximately ten years. I started out as a bus-aide, a Paraprofessional, and later taught Exceptional Student Education for two years. I currently reside in Miami-Dade County with my husband.
