of the Eighth Air Force in World War II- the story of a young bomber
pilot of the 91st Bomb Group and the missions he flew during the most desperate and dangerous months of the war.
The Eighth Air Force sustained between 26,000 and 28,000 combat deaths, roughly one-tenth of the Americans killed in World War II.
This was approximately 12.3% of the 210,000 Eighth Air Force crew
members who flew in combat.
