George Tsuruoka attended MIT in Boston and transferred to Catholic University where he graduated Cum Laude in 1941 with a degree in architecture. He worked for various architectural firms in Washington, D.C. upon graduation. In 1950 he and two colleagues designed model homes that were designed for the Chicago fair of 1950. He later joined Smith and Street as the Midwest editor of the publication Living For Young Homemakers. He moved to the Chicago area in 1948 where he worked for Burnham and Hammond. In 1950 he subsequently founded his own firm, Design Promotion Inc. and published house plans for which included Design For Sales, which published house plans for sale and did this until he retired. Please note the significance architecture plays throughout this book. This is his first and only book as he passed away on May 18th, 2007.
