About the Book
This book is a small collection of Azerbaijan children folklore. Azerbaijan has a very rich and ancient folklore. This collection of stories is to try and bring Azeri literature to the English speaking world. One of the most popular and beloved stories in Azerbaijan is Jirtdan (Tiny) – a story about a very small, but smart boy, who tricked a big monster – called Deev and saved him and his friends from being eaten. Also, another popular story is about 3 small kids, their mom, and a mean wolf (Shangul, Shungul and Mangul). Then, we have stories about a wise boy (The Smart Child), a wise dad (The seven sticks), and an ignorant elephant (The angry bees) and a few more stories that are sure to catch your interest. About the Author
Rahim Salayev is a computer engineer and works as a UNIX System Administrator. In his free time he likes to read good books, play soccer, or just browse the Internet. Arifa Salayeva is an owner of a home day care (Mom’s Childcare) and she loves kids. In her free time she likes to watch movies, listen to music and go shopping. Anar Salayev is a ninth grade honor student. He likes music, making short videos, and hanging out with his friends. Rosie Salayev is a third grade student. She has been recognized, academically, in school several times. She loves ice skating, playing the piano, drawing, and watching TV.
