About the Book

This fast paced business, passionately romantic, humorous, nostalgic story takes place in the 1950’s. It’s that of a young, single, middle class, marine engineer thrust overnight from a desk in engineering into the high life of the sales department selling equipment to the government. It relates his mystical success after riding on the luxury train. The book, in rapid dialog, describes his travel, social encounters, government meetings, the impact on his income and the loves of his life.

About the Author

Mortimer J. Sullivan was born January, 1928 in the Bronx, New York City, the youngest of three children. He was able to complete the four-year high school courses in three years so that he could enter the United States Navy Reserve at the New York States Maritime Academy, from which he graduated in 1948. At that time he was granted a commission as an Ensign in the USNR, and a Coast Guard License as a third engineer on steam and diesel-driven ships. Wanting to top off his education he sailed in the Merchant Marine during the summers and in winters returned to SUNY Maritime College (formerly NYSMA) earning a Bachelor of Marine Engineering degree. Throughout his career in manufacturing, he wrote and gave presentations on the electric power field and industrial robotics. He presently lives in Florida with his wife, Patricia.
