About the Author

Jerry Magner, MBA As a college student, in 1983, Jerry began his career selling calendars to gift shops in Southern California. Within months, his sales were greater than the ability of the company to produce. He recognized a gap in knowledge between the typical sales force and production, and set out to understand all aspects of the consumer products business. After completing his MBA from University of Redlands, Jerry delved into the world of credit, packaging, retail sales and mass marketing - the commonly overlooked but all very critical parts of a successful product development campaign. Over the years, Jerry has developed and sold products into hardware, pet, electronics, gift, bookstores toy, grocery, drug stores and more. His products have been featured on Good Morning America, CNN, The CBS Evening News and in numerous magazines and newspapers across the United States. With a successful track record of introducing new products, Jerry has been invited to speak at industry trade shows around the world. He has also been a regular contributor to such magazines as Pet Business, Giftware News, Good Packaging Magazine, Hardware Age and others. Recognized as an industry expert, Jerry is continually asked to assist in the development of new products. With more inquiries than available time, he decided to put his knowledge and expertise into a book so that others can benefit from his experience. In addition to this book, Jerry also conducts Retail Game seminars around the world that offer further explanations of his systematic approach to consumer products marketing.
