About the Author
Marilyn Hartsfield began her career as a physical science and biology/chemistry teacher in the early ’70s. After four years of teaching, she became an engineer and product manager in a major telecommunications company where she remained for twenty six years. Her love for art, creating, and inventing brought her to the culinary world in 2001 for which she was destined. Although she was still working full time in the corporate world during that time, she managed to attend various local cookie and cake classes, and began to develop her own style of cookie-making from what she had learned. Her first attempt at the art of creating unique cookies was accomplished by making cookies as gifts for her corporate friends who enjoyed them and encouraged her to develop her skill. After being inspired by her friends and a long time ambition to be a couture boutique owner, she focused on creating unique and elegant designs and developing extraordinary looks to her cookies. Now that she is retired, she writes instructional manuals, teaches cookie classes, and focuses on pushing the envelope in cookie making to develop some unusually unique cookies for the world to enjoy. Marilyn became a member of the ICES organization in 2006.
