About the Author

Bernard, a native of the Island of Jamaica has spent over twenty years living in and exploring the world. She has compiled a collection of old family recipes from all over the globe from the Caribbean, the United States, Europe and the Far East. Such a nomadic lifestyle has led to her diverse background: After graduating from the University of Madrid, Spain, she served on the faculty of the University of Ryukyus, in Okinawa Japan, and the University of Arizona, in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. She has worked in education, nutrition, and malaria prevention in the Zambales region of the Philippines.
