About the Book

One April morning two baby doves hatched from two small eggs on my patio. I watched them every day until they learned how to fly. My granddaughter was also awed by observing them and learned a real life lesson of a birth.

I was extremely fascinated by the activities of the birds and decided to keep a photographic record of their behavior as well as a written one. This is the true story of their growth in a picture book aimed at young readers. In a video game world where children are often cut off from their natural environment, this is a book that can help them wake up to the wonder of their surroundings.

About the Author

About the Author My background in education helped me to make this story relevant and appropriate for beginning readers. I worked for twenty-five years in the public school system as a teacher and a counselor. My passion for art was always incorporated into the school work. Following retirement I continued to substitute in the school as I loved being a part of the educational process. Recently I have read this story to first and second graders. They were extremely enthusiastic and rave reviews were received from the children and faculty.
