Mimi Cabrero can remember when gas was 35 cents a gallon. She can also remember when the #1 slot on music charts wasn´t ruled by rappers, but by The Archies and The Beatles. That´s because Mimi was seventeen in 1969, when all these things were relevant – just like she is now. Just like she´s been since she was turned into a witch. In the rain-soaked ocean town of Bailey, Oregon, Mimi lives with her siblings and parents. She has just begun her Junior year at the local high school. On her first day, she makes a new friend, Rachel Young. Rachel is a Haida Indian, a tribe on the ocean that´s been at war with the Cabrero family for ages – since the dawn of time. Because the Haida have some secrets of their own. But when Mimi falls for Rachel´s best friend, Aaden Matthews, things get a little complicated. And when he tells her the Haida people are actually vampires that can´t resist the smell of witches´ blood, then things get really complicated. Especially when they begin to fall in love with each other, much to the horror of both of their families. None of that matters once an unknown force starts controlling Mimi´s siblings, one after the other. When the force decides it wants Mimi, the love between the two of them is put to the test.
